ABOUT THE ARTIST: Laurence Rosenthal has been associated with the Gurdjieff/de Hartmann music for many decades and is one of the leading figures in its preservation and performance. He is one of three editors of four volumes comprising the entire piano music and he participated in the recordings of the complete works. He has recently released two of his own recordings. Mr. Rosenthal has performed the music in public concerts in New York, Boston, Washington, Los Angeles, San Francisco and London. His career accomplishments include dozens of scores for film, television, stage and concert. His professional acknowledgements include two Academy Award nominations (best original score Becket , best adaptation Man of La Mancha ), seven Emmy Awards, the Film Music Society Career Achievement Award in 1999, and in 2006, the ASCAP Foundation Award for Life in Music.

ABOUT THE VENUE: The Old Church is centrally located at the corner of SW 11 th & SW Clay St., just north of PSU on the Tri-Met streetcar line. For those driving, click on the button below for directions. In addition to street parking, there is a pay parking lot next door on 10th and Clay and another lot around the corner. The Old Church and its facilities are wheelchair accessible.
